Viljar Veede

Psychiatrist

As a psychiatrist I have extensive experience primarily the diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), trauma spectrum disorders (PTSD) and addiction disorders. My special interest has long been in the potential use of psychedelics in psychiatric treatment, and I currently practice ketamine-assisted psychedelic therapy. I also provide harm reduction counseling for drug (including psychedelic) use.

Work experience

I finished the psychiatry residency in 2019. 2019-2021 I worked at SA PERH Psychiatry Clinic in the non-psychotic crisis department. Since 2021 I have worked in the SA PERH Psychiatry polyclinic, including regular duty work in the emergency psychiatry department. 2021-2024 I worked as a psychiatrist at Confido Medical Center, where I was a founder of ketamine infusion treatment service, leading the service for three years.

I have made numerous presentations at conferences, seminars and training events in Estonia and other countries. I have been a lecturer at Tallinn Health Care College for over five years.

I am a member of the Estonian Society of Psychiatrists and a former member of the board. I am also a founding member of Foundation for Therapeutic Advancement and Innovation with Psychedelics (SA TAIP) and the council chairman.
