Kertu Leesmaa

Clinical psychologist

I see relationships as playing a central role in my work — both the therapeutic relationship and the important relationships in a person’s everyday life. I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults, as well as with relationship and family-related challenges, including supporting parents raising a child with special needs. I also have experience supporting people in adapting to major life changes, including coping with grief. In addition, I have provided training on stress management and burnout prevention. I value a non-judgmental and supportive environment that helps people access their inner resources and move toward their goals.

I work individually with both adolescents and adults.

Professional Experience

I completed my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Tartu and my master’s degree in Psychology at Tallinn University (cum laude). In 2023–2024, I pursued further training in Clinical Psychology at the University of Tartu and completed my professional internship at the Viljandi Jämejala Psychiatric Clinic. I have worked with children and adolescents with special needs since 2016, including extensive experience in various positions at Tartu Herbert Masing School. I began working as a psychologist in 2019.
